My last post was on finding inspiration in the home office. I've spent some time organizing mine, so I thought I'd share some details (the good and a few things that still need a little work... ) My office space is in a back room attached to our kitchen. As I've mentioned before, I live in a vintage pre-war apartment -- my kitchen has a butler's pantry, the cooking area and a converted maid's room, which is now my office. The office is about 10 x 10 with very little natural light so I have lamps everywhere I can. The one window unfortunately has our AC unit right outside of it ... I have learned to ignore this fact for now. That will be changed when I rehab the entire kitchen ... one of these days.
And now for the things that I like: the fact that my office is part of the kitchen is nice because I'm always just steps away from another cup of tea and I never feel as if I'm tucked away in some remote room. I have my giant blackboard, my tray of essentials, flowers,
my favorite diptyque candle, my Mac streaming my favorite pandora station... All lending themselves to an inspirational and functional office.
I'm assuming we all have our must have items... what are some of yours???
enjoy
